Backward integration:
We have always taken initiatives to promote the cultivation of Aromatic plants by means of buying aromatic plants and their oils from the farmers directly. We are also tied up with various institutes by signing the MOU in various regions of India, for the development of aromatic crops. This has promoted the production of aromatic crops.
We have also supported and trained many rural populations in Southern India,to develop these crops, to integrate the supply chain to ensure timely availability of quality and quantity of raw material. Significantly, it increases the income of farmer and also reduces the procurement cost for us by doing away with the middlemen. The model which we have adopted is Greenleaf providing finance and planting material to farmers, also provide technical advise and buy back the material at a fixed price for a periof of 1-2 years. It is win-win situation for both us and our agricultural partners, as they get good price for their crop and we get consistent supplies of quality products at affordable prices, which strengthen our position in the ingredient industry.
